The most important meal of the day deserves to be eaten at only the best breakfast places. Start your day off right by turning the nose of your Kia Rio towards one of these great spots here in Newark, OH.

Big Apple Café on Log Pond

You’ll find this place at 1283 Log Pond Dr, and they open their doors bright and early at 7AM daily. This is an amazing local spot with good prices, friendly staff, lots of variety of foods to choose from, and homecooked goodness that will keep you coming back again and again. Just be aware that it’s quite popular, so expect it to be busy (and loud).

We highly recommend the crab cake benedict, the french toast, and their amazing homemade cream puffs, if you’re in the mood for something sweet for breakfast. Their three-egg omelets will leave you full for hours, and the bacon here is some of the best.

Rolls by the Pound

Rolls by the Pound is a great coffee shop located at 597 Country Club Dr and open from 7AM until 1PM Monday through Friday. This is the perfect spot to come for a wonderful cup of coffee or espresso drink and some of the best pastries and “bready” breakfast foods you’ll ever enjoy.

We recommend their mocha latte in particular, and their pecan rolls. Their signature cinnamon rolls are out of this world, and their long johns and muffins are great, too. We also love their blueberry bagels with cream cheese. This is a great spot for a lighter breakfast.

Daisy’s Diner

Over on the other side of town, at 3 W Church St, Daisy’s is open from 7AM until 2PM every day but Sunday. They offer homecooked food, great service, and a full menu of breakfast foods. There’s something for everyone, no matter your preference or appetite.

Their breakfast specials are always worth ordering. We like the #3, which comes with corned beef hash, two eggs, toast, and homefries. Their sausage and gravy are delicious, and the oatmeal bowl is a great choice for anyone who wants something a bit healthier.

Tee Jaye’s Country Place

This family-owned restaurant is an iconic local tradition, and they offer food very nearly 24/7. You’ll find them at 1195 N 21st St, and they’re always open. They only close for a few hours on Sunday evenings at 11PM (though there have been COVID-related changes at times, so if you want something after 11PM be sure to call). Our community loves their food, service, and prices. You can also get breakfast anytime.

We recommend you try one of their country specials for breakfast, like the Country Eggs Benedict, which is English muffin with ham, two eggs, hollandaise, and sausage gravy, served up with potatoes done, however you like them. We also love the country ham special and the amazing pancakes. Be sure to try the blueberry.
